Short Leash

Hilarious!!

At least I thought so... Bear giving it his all, trying to control Popcorn. Not that Popcorn needs controlling....but this little Puggle appears determined to keep 137 lbs of large dog on a short leash!
Trying to get a group shot together of 8 or 10 dogs, not an easy task! I'm not going to say if it was successful or not...stay tuned for that! But I can say it was entertaining for sure!

One of the beautiful things about photography is being able to capture a moment and catch things forever. Even the things that don't last forever.
This is Duke who since our photo shoot has had to move on. Duke passed away about a week ago, but mind you at a double digit age and years after being told he would not live long due to cancer. Instead this survivor learned to manage his world on 3 legs, not 4. He impressed me the day we met for the shoot by climbing all the way up and all the way back down from our location on top of the ski jumps at the Olympic Park! Amazing guy. I'm grateful for having met Duke that day and to capture at least his beautiful image before he had to go.
Thanks Duke, you'll be missed.

Ball break! Taking a breather during a shoot to relax from all the demands of dog modeling. It's not all hard work.

Please start thinking of wonderful things about your dog/s to put in their bios, these will be emailed to you soon. make them fun!
Small dog, big close up! taking a little break from photos to wait for the sun to grace us with it's presence.....Bella is curious about the camera.
Bear, at the end of his modeling sesh.....looking to score another possible treat!

Horsing Around

Nahhh!  Can't get me!  One big, bold dog.....I'd say he's taunting this horse for sure....just because he's outside the gate and the horse is in.... hope he's a really fast runner just in case this horse gets out!

Fetch!

Now that's a big ball to try and catch! This happy dog is not even worried about trying. Another week of shoot coming up.....every morning this week. Is your dog involved in this project? If you think they should be and they live in Park City send me a message and a couple of photos (of your dog, not you ; ). It will be a wrap before we know it. Still hoping to find some fantastic Newphies, a Samoyed and a great Great Dane. Know any?

Another model working it for the camera!

Ok, can you say Paw-parazzi? Yeah, if there was more than one camera maybe it could be called that. But, this little guy Max it working just like a star, at this photo session on Main Street recently. He's even smiling!

What's that bright thing in the sky??

Yeah! the sun is back and the mud disappearing... getting photos of Tuki in the morning and looking for a dog for Wednesday morning shots and then more later in the week. Here's a shot of a little guy who was being fostered by some good people on my street. We stayed dry and got some shots indoors over the weekend....isn't he precious?

Rain, rain go away...

I'm back in town from a great venture to Alaska....now I'm hoping the weather decides to clear up so we can get back on track and shoot!  Dogs that is.....ok maybe photos sound better : )

Progress on this Park City Dogs photo project has been slowed a lot this spring with the nasty weather, but it's not stopped by any means.  I've run into a few of you out on locations and recognized your dogs from the original emails, and eventually your dog/s will be the one in front of my camera.  So slowly it will all come together!  In the meantime this will be the best place to check in if you think I've forgotten anyone... so, enough for now, and I'll leave you with this quote,
"The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue."

Very Shy Old Guy

Today's dog was a 10 year old St Bernard named Woody who was incredibly shy and very fearful of the camera.  Old dogs rule, so I decided not to disturb him after he ran from the camera quite a few times.  Not everyone likes the limelight...so while Woody enjoys his peace and quiet, I'll try to find another St Bernard with Zoolander tendancies.

Stopping to smell the flowers

A good reminder to us all to take time to stop and enjoy the nice things in life, like little Mia demonstrated here. Easy to do living in Park City!

My best poser to date

This dog was one of the first to kick off this project. My own dog Jasper would be the first except I always take more photos of him, so he can't be honored with the first. But the dog in this shot has to be one of the most chill personalities I think I will encounter as this project evolves. And he sure knows how to look into the camera!

Good Weather is back

Spring weather is here and this brings opportunity to get back out and shoot more photos of the amazing local dogs living here in Park City. Mud season and lots of gray weather slowed the sessions down for weeks, but now things are starting to move again.

I just received some prints back of the last 10 dogs or so that "modeled"  so I will be working on connecting with all of you who volunteered your dogs time. I'll be looking to distribute prints of Shiloh, Frank, Chinook & Enzo, Marlie, Popcorn, Henna, Finnegan and Roxie and her buddy. Amazing dogs, all of them!  Some kind of camera shy and others total hams...... stay tuned ; )
